PH - Mac Race 2012

This past week I participated in the Bayview Port Huron to Mackinaw Race. The race finished on July 17th, which was also the day I celebrated my 40th birthday. I could'nt have asked for a better day, celebrating with new and old friends, on the lawn of the Grand Hotel, with a grand race celebration party.

Our race performace was good, but mostly I will take away a new set of perspectives on how to be a better skipper, along with some new boat and crew mamangement ideas. Contributing as crew on someone else's boat gave me a great opportunity to see the value of strong leadership on the boat, and how the dynamics of crew play into the overall performance of the program.

The race and boat delivery back home was a huge physical effort, much greater than I was expecting.
Really a great experience all around, and an experience I've wanted to to take part in for as long as I can remember - to participate in the PH to Mac race.
