It was a good excuse to spend a weekend in Chicago, the show was great, despite the single digit temps and white out conditions in both directions of the drive. There were a couple of restaurants we really wanted to try while in the city, but they were closed for the holiday. None the less, there were pleny of interesting places to explore on the North side of Chicago.
I was struck by how similar the buildings, general industrial decay and overall feel the North side of Chicago has to Detroit, the difference being, there is a vibrance to the old run down city that Detroit just doesn't share.
We tried to shop the following morning but it was just too cold, and we had an afternoon appointment on the way home we didn't want to miss.
