Hawaii

Susan and I took a trip to Hawaii last week, great to get out of the cold and regain some perspective.

Day 1 Travel -Waikiki Oahu - Hilton

Day 2 Oahu - Rented a car and explored the island.  Got all the way around the island to Dillingham Airfield for some ridge flying and it started to rain as we entered the parking lot - bummer.

Day 3 Travel - Oahu to Maui - K'anapali

Day 4 Maui - Explored West Maui

Day 5 Maui - Mt Haleakala - 10,000' in Hawaii sun => sunburn

Day 6 Maui - Rest day

Day 7 Maui - East Maui - Road to Hana - long day, rough road, it's a rental..

Day 8 Maui - Sail trip to L'nai

Day 9 Maui - Explored Wailea area, beach lunch - $40 for a coconut, pineapple and mango at a roadside stand - tourist tax I guess

Day 10 Travel - Maui to Oahu to LAX to DTW 18 hours travel time door to door + 4 hr time change = long day
