Sunday Sunset

This past week I started a photography class. The teacher is really a gifted photographer, and I'm really enjoying the class so far. This weeks photo assignment was aperture settings and exposure. As I stood on my lake Sunday evening with a tripod, this scene showed up for just a few minutes, long after the sun had set. I had already packed up and had to race to get everything set back up for the shot.
I wish I would have insisted Susan join me for this session. When I asked her to join me, she wanted to come but was lacking the motivation to brave the cold, and I was lacking the motivation to insist. It was a really special few minutes watching the sky light up as a stratus layer moved in totally unexpected.
