Friday afternoon I met up with John Harte to do some flying with the Tuskegee Airman aircraft out of Detroit City Airport. After departure from City airport, we flew over Belle Isle, which was setting up for Grand Prix, over down town, then down the river to Grosse Ile for some touch and goes. It was great to get back up in the air with John on a beautiful summer night. Lots of beautiful homes and big boats all around the airport, which used to be a Naval Air Station. George Bush Sr. dumped a Corsair into the river on a training flight here many years ago.
